Double-sidedness; Folded Porcelain Tableware (2012)

 

The extension of the project is to create a tableware set, which each pieces is made by folding. This expression of ceramics, having various structural design of architecture and plasticity of clay that can be shaped in a number of different forms, creates unexpected and differentiated design through the medium. For the paper to form shape, the outside surface is sprayed and painted with clay slip that becomes a real porcelain body. During being fired, the inside surface of papers becomes the outside surface of the porcelain.

Basically there are infinite ways to fold papers which means it is able to form what we imagine as many as possible.
